Mr Jordaan Hotel, Amsterdam

A stone throws away from Anne Frank House Mr. JORDAAN is quaintly located on a quiet canal in the heart of the artsy Jordaan district. This hipster home-away-from-home styled hotel offers a boutique sleep with a chilled-homey feel.

we go way back to the sixties, when one day, our founder decided to advertise his couch at the local tourist agency. People loved it. So the couch turned into a room, which turned into two, which expanded into a full floor, then into more floors until even the house next door gave in to the hospitable spirit of our Mr. Jordaan. You could say he was a pioneer. Started couch surfing before its time. AirBnB-by-phone-and-snail-mail. Stay-with-a-local, well before we even knew ‘local’ was something to aspire.”

The interior of Mr. JORDAAN can be described as nothing but modest. Its bare brick walls and wooden furnishings throughout help to create its relaxed atmosphere. The staff here are friendly and offer a 24/7 desk service, so there is always someone there when you need them. (Even on those nights you don’t remember). Rooms here vary and can get real cosy, so pick carefully. The converted houses offer rooms with canal views, others look out over neighbouring rooftops, and some include incredible wooden beams.

In a whole Mr. JORDAAN is great value for money with Double rooms from €100 (£90) in low season, and from €180 (£163) in high.

Mr. JORDAAN is located at Bloemgracht 102, 1015 TN, Amsterdam and can be booked here.
