With not just design in mind, Honda looks to full home connectivity when unveiling its new Honda e Prototype during Milan Design Week in its first ever exhibit during the design festival. The Japanese motor company who presented Cassa Connessa [Connected Home] a 360 smart-home experience integrating the outdoor and indoor, including Honda’s first electric battery vehicle for Europe.
At the heart of the experience held at The Garden House (Via Tortona 12) was the ideas of sustainability and connectivity with the user at the pulse of every decision. Honda’s e Prototype comes equipped with a full home connected lifestyle from its fully electric charging to the ability to use the new e Prototype as an energy bank that can also give back energy.
Interiors are kitted in soft black leather, a vast interactive and smart dashboard and a much more generous interior space. The e Prototype also features in-motor side mirrors that limits ‘blind spots’ to all the contemporary fittings needed such as GPS and a high-spec audio system with full connectivity.
The exhibit pulling together a 360 connected lifestyle also saw Honda collaborate with a series of acclaimed Italian photographers commissioned to capture the essence of the city [Milan] in which #casaconnessa was held inspired by the design language of its new e Prototype.
In a conversation with Furniture Specialist, Francesca Gatti who managed the curation of home pieces at Honda’s Cassa Connessa Tortona she said “What we wanted to focus on when curating was the 2 direct essences of what the car stands for. Its direct connection with everything around it and nature but also the concept of time, evolution and sustainability.” The team who kitted out the space alongside Scandinavian inspired furniture designers and architects focused on clean lines, tradition, and minimalistic design. Gatti went on to explain “We looked to Finnish architect Albero Alto for the functionality in his designs but we also wanted to convey this understanding of the indoor-outdoor experience to highlight Honda’s vision of connectivity and functionality for the future.”
Honda’s e Prototype is set for release in the coming year. Watch this space.
