Centered and overlooking five hectares of rich Balinese landscape gardens and rice fields, The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah Ubud present its Hot Air balloon experience, allowing you to soak in the ultimate 360 views of the highlands of Ubud, known as the ‘cultural heart’ of Bali, immersing you into its customs and traditions whilst just 50 meters off the ground.
The Luxury resort boasts 20 suites and villas set in lush gardens and now the home of one of the best ways to see Bali, and probably one of the most Instgrammable moments you’ll have on your visit. Despite the popularity of ballooning tours in the world’s most exotic locations, Bali in recent years has been bereft of balloons. The Chedi Club’s new adventure will be the only ballooning opportunity on the Island of the Gods, and the first such initiative launched by a resort. (Not to mention, a sweet hidden gem)
The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah Ubud offers many flight times, but we opt for grabbing the Early (6.30/7 am flight, to see the sun rise and avoid any strong winds that could occur in the day. It’s breathtaking and you won’t be disappointed. Follow this on with a vast breakfast offering, overlooking the green landscapes, where you really see the grounds come alive, from the rice field to the exceptional service staff accustom to Bali.
Each experience sets sail with a maximum of two adults and two children under 12, as well as a certified pilot, though total guest weight cannot exceed 230kg.
The flights last between five and seven minutes and cost US $150 (£120 est) for each morning and afternoon trip, breakfast or afternoon tea for two included. The final flight of the day includes dinner for two adults and costs US $200 (£164 est) or for the ultimate hot air balloon experience followed by a five-course romantic dinner on a private rice paddy platform costs US $295 (£240 est) per couple.
