What movie would you watch first if you’d been blind for 10 years?

Words by Marvin Maddix

Funded by small voluntary contributions South African teen Philani Twala has been made to see again, after almost a decade of blindness. Twala has received a double corneal transplant to restore his sight. Now he’s asking the world to suggest what the first ever movie he watches in a cinema should be, using #OpenEyes to make their suggestions.

By asking for suggestions through the #OpenEyes campaign, they’re hoping to encourage even more movie-goers to add a little bit extra to their ticket bookings in the future, allowing them to help even more underprivileged kids receive life-changing eye surgery.
