True You

‘True You’ is shot by Michelle Hèlena Janssen and fronted by models Pleuni Veen and Levi van Gelder exclusively for FGUK Magazine. Art Directed by Robin Burggraaf with styling by Jóa Hitpass, pulling pieces from Armenian young designer Wannes Akop.

The collection takes inspiration from his older sister, a once radiant woman who changed dramatically while being in a complicated relationship with a very controlling man. To deal with the loss of his sibling, Wannes pays tribute to her former self and expresses a hope for the future.

‘A shadow play performed in a twilight zone. A guy and a girl dressed in looks lucid enough to escape gendered categorisation meet in between realities. Estranged but still familiar, they seem to wake up from a dream and recognise each other. They are in-between, almost reaching their Utopia free from conventions and restrictions.
