TAKARA WONG at Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo

Bangkok-based menswear label Takara Wong introduces their Spring/Summer 2018 collection”Wong2108,” a futuristic, interpretation and exploration of the connection between humans and technologies during Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo.

Taken influences from many Sci-fi films he saw as a kid and even as an adult, Wannawong has always been inspired by the many different perception of the future in these different movies and the fact that even though humans seems to be advancing into the future with innovations, it seems as if we’re lonelier than ever. As technologies replace human connection in everyday life, would humans of the future feels that it might be better to live in the past? All these questions are translated into a wearable pieces with some humorous yet sarcastic elements such as clear plastic pockets in the clothing items, that has been styled with objects that represented an outdated society, think newspaper, old cell phones, a pager or even quotes such as “I am FutuRe-sistance” on a piece of garment that mirror an infamous British Punk quote “No Future,”
