QUEER: Hood By Air x Pieter Hugo Gay Jamaica’s new voice

Words by Marvin Maddix

Hood by Air’s designer Shayne Oliver and photographer Pieter Hugo are back at it again. Early 2016 the team traveled to Jamaica to photograph the island’s transgender community, “Gully Queens” and a male porn star of which the images were published in a book titled “PH & HBA” .

Oliver and Hugo targets the homosexual community in Jamaica, where being gay is illegal. On their new brand collaboration we see their early 2016 images resurface as the main print behind seven unique raglan shirts priced at $300 apiece.
