H&M Issues Apology after Advert Fuck Up!

H&M has received some serious flack this past week after its controversial advert was shared across the internet of a Black child model wearing a jumper with the slogan “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle” and while we don’t feel this was malice, Stockholm based high street retailer H&M did not take the steps to assure racial sensitivity was a priority.

The Label released an apology stating “Our position is simple – we have got this wrong and we are deeply sorry to anyone offended or angered. We strongly believe that racism and bias in any shape or form, deliberate or accidental, are simply unacceptable. We completely understand all the criticism and we agree with it. We have taken down the image and we have removed the garment from sale. We are now investigating internally to ensure this can’t ever happen again.

We have got this wrong and we are deeply sorry. Link in bio.
