For those unaware Alcotraz is London’s first Prison Cocktail Bar. But what does this mean? Inspired by the United States Penitentiary, Alcatraz Island, where some of the most notorious and dangerous inmates were kept. This 3 month pop-up in the heart of East London offers Drinks and true to form, atmosphere, associated with prison life.

On arrival, you will become immersed in the Alcotraz experience, From the actors who become prison guards who hand you your orange one-piece to the prison warden there to keep you in-line and make sure your experience is a ‘delightful’ one.

Alotraz will offer 30 guests, per session to be able to experience the prison. Inmates and visitors (that means you) will need to smuggle in your own booze and let the mixologists behind the bar, treat you to what you fancy. The pop-up offers up a world of unique escapism, whilst serving delicious, experimental cocktails.

Alcotraz Penitentiary is open now at 212 Brick Lane, E1 6RL, and will run until Dec 17. Tickets cost £30 and can be booked at www.alcotraz.co.uk.
